We're bombarded with so much information, and it is quite easy to have feelings of overwhelm, like the wheels are falling off the carriage some days.

Most of time as Women we're attempting to juggle more than what we can possibly handle in any given moment. It's no wonder that 1 in 6 women will experience some level of depression throughout their lifetime.

Some of the stats on Anxiety & depression are completely out of the ball park.

There are now over 3 million Australian's living with depression.

In my opinion this is far too many people living in a state of stress and anxiety from day to day.

Although we can attempt to see the why's, how many of us are actually doing something about this?

Or are we just living with it day to day hoping it will get better over time?

I think the later is much closer to the truth, we're covering up what's really going on underneath most of the time & if the truth be known, we're either told to "get over it" or "you'll be right"

For some of us "You'll get over it" isn't enough and we're crying out for support and understanding of what's REALLY !! going on.

I thought I'd shine a light this week on one of the topics that seems to be a buzz topic or "In fashion" Phrase at this time.

With Dis-ease coming in many forms running riot & majority of Australian's on medication, it's time we took a stand and started to listen to our bodies and what it's actually saying to us.

With so many of us operating from an outer perspective, when do we take the time to listen to our inner perspective or inner voice, that is screaming for you to stop & listen.

There has been several periods in my life that I too have suffered with the lowest of lows, anxiety & depression, there are many moments I could of chosen today to give as an example, but I wanted to touch on a moment in time whilst I was running my florist business here in Victoria many years ago.

During my years as a florist, whilst running my retail business, Mothers day was the busiest day of the year, it was a time when I would operate on only a few hours sleep for a period of 7 days leading up to the big day. It was a complete buzz and although I loathed the lack of sleep, I totally immersed myself in the big day.

It was 2011 & another Mothers Day was dawning, I had been experiencing a serious amount of pelvic pain, but not unlike the pain I had been living with for most of my life. For years I had suffered with bowel and gynaecological issues, but the long and the short of it is I totally ignored what my body was screaming out trying to tell me. I was too concerned with the outside & completely ignored the inner world. I managed to get through the Mothers Day rush, but it was not more than a few days after that, I was completely put on my back and hospitalised. What followed was a complete body breakdown. There was no way that the universe or the powers that be was going to let me get away without addressing what was going on a deeper level. Months and months passed, I had no choice but to surrender and let go of everything I had come to know in my world at that time, everything that I feared was happening to me in that moment.

I felt vulnerable, afraid & had no control over what was unfolding before me in my life.

I had no choice but to fully let go, surrender & accept what was.

During this very dark space in my life, I learnt how to adapt, surrender, make peace & give myself total permission to be right where I was, without judgement. I had no choice but to listen to that inner world & make peace with some of the programming that had come to shape my life to that point.

And so we continue to unwrap the onion, layer by layer, we must continue to do this throughout our entire lifetime in our physical form. For it is apart of our journey.

What I'm alluring to is that fact that we don't stop long enough to listen to what is calling us deep inside.

Don't wait until it's too late to address what your heart & soul needs, we are not immortal (although so many of us seem to live that way).

The moment you become clearer about your impermanence on this planet, that will be the moment you start to really harness living in the right here, right now.

What do you understand about you impermanence on this planet?

I thought to present you today with subjects that really enable us to go deeper and reflect on the way we show up in the world.

But I can't let you go away with just that.

Here are some basic techniques for you to take away and use in your time, remember all it takes is the awareness to stop and breathe, in those 5 minutes you take to stop and breathe, you fill your cup just a little bit more, when our cups are full we  are then able create space to help others.

1. Give yourself permission

I know even for myself, in the beginning I actually had to stop and give myself permission to give myself time, to allow myself to feel what I was feeling and reflect on what was coming up. It took practice and if your a person that puts others needs before your own, this part is going to take a bit of time.

Start by stopping and giving yourself permission, its totally ok to laugh, cry, dance and feel joy in your life.

Look in the mirror, it may feel a little weird at first, but look yourself right in the eyes and say the words "I give you permission to......" add in what ever you need to here, it may change from day to day, month to month.

We are all human having the this human experience and you can bet your bottom dollar that there is someone out there feeling the same way.

You don't have to worry about any body else but you!

You are just as important as everyone else on this planet, so it's about time you gave yourself exactly what you need.

YOU HAVE PERMISSION!!!! :-) with love of course

2. Ritual

Create more ritual in your life, something that you love and enjoy. It could be as simple as making a cup of tea and sitting with it for 10 minutes in the day, sitting with it in a dedicated space just for you. You may want to take this time each day, in your ritual space to write in your journal or meditate or perhaps read something that is positive and motivating or just listen to music.

I recommend when setting the intention for this, that you do it at a similar time everyday, the more and more you practice this ritual the more your world expands and you'll be able to gain clarity on other areas in your life that need time and space.

3. Stop/Breathe

For the most part we are breathing short shallow breaths, its only when we stop and tune in do we see this fact. Make a point of stopping a few times a day to see how your breathing. Take a few moments to take some deep breaths into your belly. I recommend starting with 5 deep belly breaths & releasing them slowly through your mouth or nose. This breath work can become really addictive. I absolutely love this exercise, you will feel more relaxed and calm. It definitely takes away the sharp edges. You'll feel more energised and clearer in the mind. Perhaps put a note on your computer "Don't Forget to Breathe" Your mind and your body will thank you for it.

Never stop asking " How can I be of service today?" You will always be guided to take the right step when you ask the right questions.

Happy Sipping & thanks for reading
