Tea for Two
Posted on February 21 2020
The first one was the hash out a bad misunderstanding that had led to a very uncomfortable distance between me and a friend.
It wasn’t easy but it was good.
We sat there over big cups of chai and told our truths. Some hurt more than others, but they were truths that had to be told.
And all in all, I’m glad we did it.
The second was with a new friend- the mother of a friend of one of my daughters, someone who I have known peripherally for a few years, but I’m now actively pursuing a friendship with her.
We had a great time- she held the baby, we drank peppermint.
Different friends, different teas, one goal- to connect.
When we moved here 4 years ago, I felt like I was dating again. I went out on coffee and tea dates with mostly the wives of my husbands childhood friends.
It was funny to be out there again after having had the same friends for many years, but I knew that to make a new life for us, I needed to put myself out there, and make new connections.
Tea is a tie that binds. It warms the heart and soul, it keeps our hands busy during difficult conversations, gives us something to connect over.
Wishing you a weekend of connections, conversations that need to happen, and most of all love.
